Minecraft ConfigsLiteBans Message Templates

LiteBans Message Templates

Install, customize, and troubleshoot the ZCraft Studios LiteBans Message Templates (messages.yml and templates.yml, English and Spanish).

LiteBans Message Templates

Clean, modern LiteBans punishment messages with polished ban, kick, mute, and warning layouts. It restyles what LiteBans shows to players and staff. It does not change how LiteBans works, and the LiteBans plugin itself is not included.

What's included

The download has two language sets, English and Spanish (es). Each set contains the same two files:

FilePurpose
messages.ymlPunishment, staff, and command messages.
templates.ymlPunishment templates.

Compatibility

Supported
Minecraft versions1.21.1 through 26.2 (including 1.21, 1.21.11, and 26.1.2)
PluginLiteBans, using a build that supports your Minecraft version

Requirements

  • LiteBans installed and running, with its database connection working
  • Access to your server files and permission to reload or restart

Installation

Confirm LiteBans is working

LiteBans must already be running and must have generated its plugins/LiteBans/ folder.

Back up your current files

Copy your existing messages.yml and templates.yml somewhere safe.

Choose a language

Open the English or the Spanish set from the download. Use both files from the same set.

Replace the files

Copy messages.yml and templates.yml into plugins/LiteBans/, replacing the originals. The names must be exactly messages.yml and templates.yml.

Reload

Run /litebans reload, or restart the server, and check the console for errors.

Test in game

Use a test account to try a ban, kick, mute, and warning, and confirm the new layouts display correctly.

Do not mix the English and Spanish sets. Using messages.yml from one language and templates.yml from the other will show mixed languages.

Customizing

  • Edit the files with a plain text editor that keeps spaces and indentation. YAML does not allow tabs.
  • Keep placeholders (the variables LiteBans fills in with names, reasons, and durations) exactly as they are, and only change the surrounding text.
  • Make small changes and run /litebans reload after each one so errors are easy to trace.

Troubleshooting

SymptomWhat to check
Nothing changed in gameThe files are in the wrong folder or were not reloaded. They must be in plugins/LiteBans/. Run /litebans reload or restart.
Message says a file failed to loadmessages.yml or templates.yml has a YAML error. LiteBans reminds you each time a command is used until it is fixed. Check the console, look for bad indentation or a missing quote, or restore your backup.
Mixed English and SpanishFiles from both sets were copied. Replace both files with the same set.
Raw tags or symbols in messagesYour LiteBans or server version doesn't support the formatting used. Update LiteBans.
Messages look right in chat but not on the kick screenTest with a fresh punishment; messages already shown are not updated. Also check that both files were replaced.

Resources and support

When reporting a problem, include your LiteBans version, Minecraft and server software version, which language set you used, and the relevant console error.
