What's included

The download has two language sets, English and Spanish (es). Each set contains the same two files:

FilePurpose
messages.ymlPunishment and command messages.
templates.ymlPunishment templates.

Compatibility

Supported
Minecraft versions1.21.1 through 26.2 (including 1.21, 1.21.11, and 26.1.2)
PluginAdvancedBan, using a build that supports your Minecraft version

Requirements

  • AdvancedBan installed and running, with its folder generated under plugins/
  • A plugin and server version that supports MiniMessage formatting, since the messages use it
  • Access to your server files and permission to restart or reload

Installation

Confirm the plugin is installed

The plugin must already be running and must have generated its folder inside plugins/.

Back up your current files

Copy the plugin's current messages.yml and templates.yml somewhere safe.

Choose a language

Open the English or the Spanish set from the download. Use both files from the same set.

Replace the files

Copy messages.yml and templates.yml into the plugin's folder under plugins/, replacing the originals.

Reload or restart

Restart the server, or use the plugin's reload command if it has one, and check the console for errors.

Test in game

Use a test account to try a ban, mute, kick, and warning. Colors use MiniMessage formatting, so confirm they render correctly.

Do not mix the English and Spanish sets. Using one file from each will show mixed languages.

Customizing

  • Edit with a plain text editor that keeps spaces and indentation. YAML does not allow tabs.
  • Keep placeholders (the variables the plugin fills in with names, reasons, and durations) exactly as written, and change only the surrounding text.
  • Colors, gradients, and other styling use MiniMessage tags. Close every tag you open.

Troubleshooting
